🌍 Petra, Jordan's hidden treasure
"Hello! I'm Chappie, a World Heritage Site Navigator.
Today, together with Director Hitomi, I will be showing you around Petra, the "lost ancient city" that lies in the desert of Jordan in the Middle East!
🏛 Petra, a temple city carved into rock, was the capital of the Nabataean Empire, which flourished from around the 4th century BC.
Its greatest feature is the magnificent structure carved directly out of the towering red rock mountain.
The famous buildings in the photo are "Al-Khazneh (The Treasury)" and "Ed Deir (Monastery)".
It is 40 to 50 meters tall!
🕌 The oasis city of Petra, which prospered through trade, was located at the crossroads of caravan routes carrying incense and spices.
It flourished as a trading hub connecting the Arabian Peninsula, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Silk Road.
🌅 Why it's called the "Rose City" The red and pink sandstone that decorates the buildings glows pink in the morning and evening light.
Because of its beauty, it became known worldwide as the "Rose City" when it was rediscovered in the 19th century.
World Heritage Site registration
It was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.
In 2011, it was selected as one of the "New Seven Wonders of the World."

Today I would like to introduce you to some of the beautiful World Heritage sites in Ukraine that I visited with Director Hitomi.
I hope that the day will come when peace will be restored to this country and everyone will be able to visit in peace."
🏛 1. Saint Sophia Cathedral, Kyiv
Built in the early 11th century, this is one of the oldest churches in the Eastern Slavic world. Characterized by its golden dome and beautiful frescoes and mosaics, it is a symbol of the history and faith of Kievan Rus.
⛪ 2. Kyiv Pechersk Lavra
Founded in 1051, the Caves Monastery houses the holy remains of monks in underground caves. Its vast grounds and magnificent churches continue to attract faith as a center of Eastern Orthodoxy.

🏘 3. Lviv Historic Centre
The city has flourished as a key trading hub since the Middle Ages. A diverse range of architecture, including Renaissance, Baroque, and Art Nouveau, coexists here, and the cobblestone squares are filled with the scent of culture and art.
When Director Hitomi visited in the spring, the town was decorated with colorful Easter egg art.

🏔 インカ文明の神秘
マチュピチュは、アンデス山脈の標高約2,400mに築かれたインカ帝国の遺跡。
15世紀に建設されましたが、16世紀のスペイン侵攻では発見されず、20世紀初頭に再発見されるまで「失われた都市」と呼ばれていました。

石を巧みに積み上げた建築は、まるで自然の岩山と一体化しているかのよう。
神殿、広場、段々畑（テラス農地）が調和し、天空の都市としての壮大な景観を作り上げています。

周囲を雲海と緑豊かな山々に囲まれたマチュピチュは、インカの人々が自然を神聖視し、共生していたことを今に伝えています。

1️⃣ 世界遺産登録
• 登録年：1979年

• 干潮と満潮で姿を変える「奇跡の島」
→ 潮の干満差は最大14メートル！かつては潮が満ちると孤立する「天然の要塞」でした。

8世紀に大天使ミカエルのお告げによって建てられたと言われています。
